i agree with what the article says 100%...Capcom doesnt have any excuse not to bring RE5 to the Wii...i said this before and i will say it again...If u can give me 3 times more than what RE4 brought i would be extremley satisfied...Capcom doesn't have any excuse

I just finished RE4 on the weekend and what a game it was! But yeah capcom have to be the biggest idiots in the world to not put RE5 on the wii, i mean the controll scheme worked fairly well and i wouldnt care if the graphics were toned down a bit anyway
i'd much rather have re5 on my 360 or ps3, i think capcom's logic is that most hardcore gamers that have a wii, like myself, have a 360 and/or ps3 as well. sorry to tell ya'll but there are far and few hardcore gamers that own only a wii.
Their excuse is that the Wii is not capable of the type of graphics that they wanted to achieve for Resident Evil 5. Simple as that.
RE4 even with its Gamecube graphics still looks pretty damm good if you ask me! So if RE5 was on the Wii its graphics would obviously not be as detailed as the 360/PS3 versions, but it would still look great. And add in the use of the Wii remote.. it would be amazing. But alas Who knows how capcom thinks..
I really think that capcom is just lazy. I would be happy if they just took re-4 engine and made re-5 for the wii that way. It wouldnt cost them much and we would get another awesome game. graphics arent everything, especially when you have controls like the re-4 on wii had. gameplay makes a great game, not graphics.
That guy is a moron and a liar.Capcom NEVER said they'd bring Resident Evil 5 to the Wii if Umbrella Chronicles sold well, that's just a lie this guy wants to say to get readers riled up. (readers who don't understand how to check things I guess)It's not as simple as just dumbing down the graphics so when this guy (or anyone) says that the Gamecube version looked fine so just make it with that it's much more complicated. You need to make another version from the ground up for the Wii which costs time and money for a smaller market. For a game like Resident Evil 5 there's not enough Wii's to make the game profitable. What is a dev going to choose? A chance to have 23 million Wii buyers or 29 million buyers elsewhere? The Wii has not sold enough units to make this worth it.This argument has run it's course. If you want to buy certain games this generation you need to buy certain hardware. Complaining about games you want on the platform makes users look like they don't know what's going on because anyone who takes even a little bit of time can find these answers.
My guess is there will be RE games on Wii, but more likely spin offs of the main series, sucks for Wii owners but a 360 really isn't that expensive now days.... it's cheaper in the UK than a Wii. I got a Wii for first party Nintendo games, and a 360 for stuff like COD4, GTA4, RE5 ect.best of both wolds
Sorry, but even if they decided to put it on Wii...it's going to be a 360 purchase for me. For some things I can sacrifice graphics for gameplay, but using IR to improve a 3rd person shooter has yet to happen. I use my gamecube copy of RE4 to play it on Wii and just use a wavebird.
ummm ive actually heard this rumor about capcom waiting for sales to meet expectations to think about releasing re5. remember, i said rumor. ive given up on the hope for re5 coming to wii but i dont think that this guy knows what hes talking about. he compared an ingame screen of re4, and then a model of the character from re5. that's not an accurate comparison at all. plus if u look at the in game footage for both games, stating that re5 doesnt look that much different from re4 in terms of lighting, textures, visuals in general... is just plain false. re5 looks vastly superior. plus, there could be more content that's in re5 that cant fit on wii's format. no one know what's in this game, all that been shown r screens and videos. but even if this game were to come out on wii, dumbing it down isnt going to cut it. like u said, a ground up version will have to be developed. so for anyone holding their breath on whether or not re5 is going to come out this year, just stop it. its not going to happen this year even if it is coming outto the TC, please check the facts before u look at someones blog. he's clearly not professional, and u shouldnt look at him as such oh and, i dont quite understand what ur talking about there isnt enough wii's for re5 to be profitable
did u play the actual wii version?
Yea I played through the game once on Wii. I played through RE4 many many times on Cube at launch. So maybe I'm just used to it. My complaint is mostly the length you are pointing at the screen, My wrist can handle only so much of Umbrella Chronicles, same for RE4-Wii. Sometimes I just want to rest my hand on a controller, lay down on the couch or something. I don't always want to be Directly in front of the TV aiming my wrist at it. It was an ok port, and I like the idea...But it wasn't enough to make me even remotely want to sacrifice those graphics on RE5, for some IR aiming.

The Wii only has 23 million units out there so head to head with any 1 console it's winning. The problem is that games for one of those other consoles can be shared between both of them so their number becomes 29 million which beats the Wii by a really large margin.
The Wii version of Resident Evil 4 is basically the PS2 version of RE:4 with Wii motion based controls added to it. The graphics on the Gamecube version of RE:4 are accually a bit better than the Wii version because capcom ported the Wii version over from the PS2 with all the extra content and diminished graphical quality. And Capcom can't bring the same Resident Evil 5 other systems are getting to the Wii for obvious reasons but they could try to build a Wii version of RE:5 using say perhaps an enhanced version of the original Gamecube RE:4 engine. Since the RE:4 engine was originally built specifically to push the Gamecube hardware to its' limit. Why doesn't capcom make a RE:5 Wii exclusive version using an enhanced build of this original Gamecube code written for RE:4? It would make sense both in terms of being able to at least have a version availible to the millions of Wii owners that want it and have that version still be very high quality. Can anyone deny that a Wii version of RE:5 using an enhanced RE:4 engine built from the ground up to utilize the Wii's unique control scheme would be a great sucsess both comercially and critically? Well that is my idea anyway. How else do you suppose we get RE:5 on Wii?
RE5 on Wii has nothing to do with the amount of Wii's in people's homes and everything to do with the technology under the hood. Blame Nintendo if you want to blame anyone, not Capcom. They want to make RE5 the best game it can be, it's their biggest game of this generation, you can't blame them for wanting to make it on the most powerful hardware. A Wii version might not do it justice
