I'm playing both. And the PAL version does not suck. It's just not as good as the ntsc version.
Playing the game on bitter with my NTSC version. Love the game.
PAL's a tiny bit better quality and smoother frame rate, but hardly noticable.
The lack of blood and all :( means much more to me.
And they say the PAL version is the original version of the game? Yeah right if You kill the bosses it's all too apparent where the head shouldn't have been or what a mess there should have been.
Looks like the absence of the blood spews is the most obvious difference. That's a shame. Those Samurai-movie-ish blood spews were part of what gave it that Tarantino-ish quality.

I'm buying the PAL version tomorrow, would it be worth it buying the NTSC(?) version and freeloader just to have the blood?
I'm buying the PAL version tomorrow, would it be worth it buying the NTSC(?) version and freeloader just to have the blood?
just get the PAL version. The freeloader may stop working after a while due to the constant updates.

I don't get it :(, because it does imply the update if I am not mistaken...I hope it's true, so I can play Mario Kart Wii(PAL) and Brawl(PAL, when it will come...) with a free mind so I won't have to worry about any bricks.BTW, sorry for being off-topic :P.
technically yes, the PAL version is the same as the Japanese version. The NTSC version is the only one with blood because the devs wanted it to appeal to a wider majority of American demographic
Bump! regarding my freeloader question :(.
If anyone wants to know some differences between the PAL and NTSC versions despite the bleeding obvious (pardon the pun), here's a couple of things I've noticed so far.The television has the option to play the Genki Robots 'Heavenly Star' video clip in the PAL version. In the NTSC version, it instead shows you the original Project Heroes trailer, minus much of the terrible voice acting. The trailer I mean can be seen here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=HGtgqw3IsVIAnd it seems to me the beam katana combos are a little different. I'm up to using the second beam in the NTSC version and he seems to be throwing a lot of kicks in there without my asking. Maybe I'm just making it up. Discuss. Also I found in the first part time job there aren't as many trees bearing coconuts. Again, could be wrong.
